the fruit of a new republic?

I am inspired by Joanna's posting . . .

wrestling independence from the long history of Swedish, Russian and then Soviet occupation, a new republic was born after the civil war in 1918: Finland ended up on the wrong side of the dime when she chose to be an ally of Germany in WWII . . . now a bustling techno-savy and very polite democracy, this country has given birth to Lordi and one of the most famous heavy metal rock festivals, TUSKA . . . is this the fruit of a new republic? never have I seen so much beer consumed and expelled in such a short amount of time . . .

from the tenth annual Tuska Open Air Metal Festival in Kaisaniemi, Helsinki, Finland, 29.6.-1.7. http://www.tuska-festival.fi/. . . recorded 30 June, 2007, 'Emperor' is heard on stage in the distance, a sea of saluting arms before the stage, note the heroic descending chords . . . .

here is a compressed version I posted to YouTube: an uncompressed version can be had by clicking the second image . . . (be patient: it will take some time to download)
